I am in favor of the proposed amendment to Virginia State Forest Regulation 4VAC10-30-170, which would allow concealed carry permit holders the ability to carry a concealed handgun for self-defense in Virginia's state forests.Only law abiding citizens with concealed carry permits would benefit from this as well as any other persons who may fall under their protection. Violent criminals who would not be detered from illegally carrying concealed weapons may be detered from violent crime in our state forests if they know that their victims may be armed for self defense.
