Concealed Carry in VA Forests

Good afternoon. I am Adam W. Bauman, a former Marine who served in OIF & OEF, and a concealed permit holder. I am a law abiding citizen who carries a sidearm lawfully with a permit. Why should anyone wish to remove our right to carry a weapon simply because we are in a forest. I am an avid outdoorsmen, and god willing, my son will be too (he will not be born until June). I do not have the figures in front of me, but if anyone wishes to remove the ability for legal people to carry their personal firearm for security and protection while in the State forest, they should look at the number of concealed carry rapists, murderers, and other villians. But wait, I forgot, murderers, rapists, and other criminals are not lining up to legally carry their weapon. The do this illegally, causing the rest of us to carry our weapon in the first place.

I am simply saying that if you remove the guns from good people, only the bad ones will have them because they do not carry legally in the first place. I do not want to loose my family to a criminal because I was not able to protect them while enjoying the beautiful outdoors.
