Concealed carry of weapons in state forests

I urge you to allow concealed carry in state forests. Permit holders are law abiding, trained citizens. Officers are not readily available to come to the aid of a person(s) in distress as readily as say suburbia, limited access, area policed etc. As a person who spends a fair amount of time hiking and painting nature I have come accross several scary situations. People with pitbulls off leashes, basic wandering lunatics, menacing types who feel free to harass others knowing help is limited, etc. The ability to carry legally would greatly increase peace of mind and I believe make the forests safer for everyone. One final thought, if an officer is in trouble a person with a concealed carry is in a betetr position to assist than one who is not.
