Take the emotion out of the issue and it is plain to see that there is no harm in letting people authorized carry concealed weapons in state forests.  Whenever a restriction is placed in an area there is a challenge to secure the weapon in a vehicle, motel room etc. while visiting the forest.  This in turn becomes a soft target for theft of a firearm but those not authorized to carry.
