Concealed Carry in State Forests

I am asking that you support the proposed amendment to Virginia State Forest Regulation 4VAC10-30-170, which would allow concealed carry permit holders the ability to carry a concealed handgun for self-defense in Virginia's state forests.

I am a retired Marine and I am a law abiding citizen.  I feel that the ability for me to carry a concealed weapon anywhere in the State of Virginia, should not be hindered by the fact that I am on State Forest property.  Criminals are not bound by any boundries, be it federal or state.  I should have the same ability to protect myself and my family from any activities that threaten me or my family, from criminals that intend to do me harm, no matter where I am in this state.

Thank you.

Respectfully Submitted,
Richard Truman
