Virginia State Forest Regulation 4VAC10-30-170

I wish to voice my support for allowing Concealed Carry Weapons within State parks.  I believe we are just as much needed for personal protection in a State park as anywhere else we would frequent, be it from stalking criminals or agressive wild animals.  In my hunting experiances I have encountered rabid racoons and last year I was attacked by a fox which I fended off with my concealed pistol on a friends farm.  True this is only 2 incidents in my 51 years.  However I am a law abiding citizen with absolutely no crimminal record, so I believe I should be allowed to excercise my  2nd amendment right in state parks like anywhere else.  Also it should be pointed out that State parks are not excluded from criminal activity.  Criminals do not abide by these restrictions, so I don't belive they should be imposed on law abiding citizens with the legal right to carry weapons.  I certainly don't believe any park has enough game wardens to provide me adequete protection all the time.

Sincerely

Gerard P. Doyon
