NO guns in our state forests or parks

The basic thought of allowing handguns in our state forests or parks concerns me. I must assume that there are individuals that would carry concealed weapons into the state forests; however to allow them publically and legally give me an uneasy feeling.

In any given case where danger is present, having a gun may make you remain in an incident longer than you would normally.  Most of the time when you think danger is present, your first thought would be to get to safety, or stop what you are doing.  However, if you have the power of a gun, your thinking might change.  Instead of calling or running for help, you might choose to stay and use the perceived power in the gun. That you with the gun could somehow change the outcome.  This could be the case if you saw danger for someone else as well..

I hope the amendment will be defeated and the regulations for handguns in our state forests and parks will remain as it has been.  Allow us to remain safe and be able to enjoy nature quietly and peacefully.
