Comment on 4VAC10-30-170

I support the proposed change to 4VAC10-30-170 which will allow concealed carry permit holders to carry their concealed weapons in the state forests. This is a common sense change that will allow law abiding citizens to not have to decide between self protection and outdoor recreation.  Critics will make comments about poaching and danger to other hikers. These comments are foundationless as people who take the trouble to get a concealed carry permit are not going to risk that by breaking the law in such a reckless manner.  Poachers are not concerned with the illegal taking of animals and are therefore not likely to be dissaded from illegally carrying anyway. Laws banning firearms only affect law abiding citizens.

Thank you for rectifying this problem in the law which benefits all law abiding Virginians.
