I am in favor of allowing the carry of concealed firearms on Vriginia Forest administered lands. As a retired U S Forest Service employee, I have 35 years spent in the forests of Virginia as well as most every other state in the Union. There is a criminal element that exploits public lands for their own use, most notably cannibus. They also use the remoteness of some areas to conduct illicit activities like the making and use of meth. Law abiding citizens should in no way be prevented from defending themselves. Never should our representaives have prevented our ability to feel safe and be safe on our lands. I never, as a federal employee, felt as though I was anything other than a representative of the public entrusted to managed their lands and all the improvements on them.
