My partner and I are in favor of domestic partner benefits for equal health care coverage.  She works full-time and has access to health care benefits, at no cost, through her employer.  I work parttime and have to pay for health care out of pocket, at a rate of almost $500.00/month (an amount that has steadily been rising over the past 3 years and will likely continue to rise at an outrageous rate).  Due to the lack of access to partner benefits, this scenario is present in tens of thousands of homes across Virginia.  This discrepancy in health care for partners is unacceptable and should be changed.  Please vote to allow a second adult in a household (in our case, a partner) to access health care benefits.
