My spouse has been employed by the state of Virginia for over 31 years.  She has served with distinction and cannot even walk down the street of the city where she works without people coming up to her and hugging her for the contributions that she has made to their lives.

Her financial rewards have been low.

I am married to my spouse even though the marriage is not recognized in the state of Virginia.  We have been together for 20 wonderful years. We both work hard and care deeply about  family, health, and our communities.

It is very important that we she and I have the same health insurance protections as other couples in the state of Virginia.
