I applaud the effort of the Gov to allow household members of VA employees to buy into the employee's health plan. Since the employee plus one will pick up the tab, this should not be unduly expensive. I think that it's a great idea at a time when more and more people are out of work and losing their insurance. It will also help Mason and other institutions to recruit and retain employees.

Personally, I believe it would be more fair to allow household members to buy in at the same price as spouses can, but it's better than nothing.
