| Purpose of the meeting The Board will meet to discuss issues related to Virginia agriculture and consumer services as well as regulations covered by recent periodic reviews: 2 VAC5-30 Contagious & Infectious Diseases of Livestock & Poultry in Virginia; 2 VAC5-50 Prevention, Control & Eradication of Brucellosis of Cattle in Virginia; 2 VAC5-90 Control & Eradication of Pullorum Disease & Fowl Typhoid in Poultry Flocks & Hatcheries and Products Thereof in Virginia; 2 VAC5-100 Qualifications for Humane Investigators; 2 VAC5-150 Transportation of Companion Animals; 2 VAC5-180 Pseudorabies in Virginia; 2 VAC5-400 Virginia Fertilizer Law; 2 VAC5-501 Cooling, Storing, Sampling & Transporting of Milk; 2 VAC5-510 Production, Processing, & Sale of Ice Cream, Frozen Desserts, & Similar Products; 2 VAC5-531 Milk for Manufacturing Purposes. A public hearing will be held at 11:00 a.m. in conjunction with the Board meeting. The hearing will be held to receive comments on 2 VAC 5-206, a proposed new regulation for the eradication of scrapie in Virginia goats and sheep. The federal regulation which became effective in September, 2001 restricts interstate movement of sheep and goats from states that have not initiated intrastate regulatory action concerning scrapie eradication. The Board will entertain public comment at the conclusion of all other business for a period not to exceed 30 minutes. Any person who needs any accommodations in order to participate at the meeting should contact the person identified in this notice at least five days before the meeting date so that suitable arrangements can be made for any appropriate accommodation. | |
