| Purpose of the meeting The Virginia Dangerous Animal Initiative (DAI) Workgroup is convened to consider the issue of public safety in relation to possession of potentially dangerous animals. The charge of the group is to define the term dangerous as relates to animals, and determine if there is a need to place additional conditions and/or restrictions on the possession of dangerous animals. This Workgroup meeting will be facilitated by the UVa Institute for Environmental Negotiation (IEN). Meetings are open to observers, including the media. Comments by observers may be offered during public meetings or during specified periods. Observer comments may also be submitted via comment section of the Dangerous Animal Initiative website: www.virginiaanimals.net. There will be an area of seating designated for members of the public to participate as observers; lunch will be on your own as a member of the public.
