| Purpose of the meeting A public meeting to receive comments on a water quality study for the Lawnes Creek located in both Isle of Wight and Surry Sounties. The purpose of the study will be to provide information and discuss the study with interested local community members ahd local govenment. Lawnes Creek (VAT-G11E-14) was identified in Virginia’s 1998 303(d) TMDL Priority List and Report as impaired for not supporting the Shellfishing Use. The impairment is based on the shellfish harvesting condemnation of Growing Area 60-206 imposed by the Virginia Department of Health-Division of Shellfish Sanitation. The public comment period on materials presented at this meeting will extend from August 18, 2009 to September 16, 2009. | |
