| Purpose of the meeting The final public meeting on the development of TMDLs for the South River in Augusta and Rockingham Counties. The South River was listed on the 1996 303(d) TMDL Priority List and Report as impaired due to violations of the State’s water quality standard for bacteria and violations of the State’s general (benthic) standard for aquatic life. In addition, the South River and South Fork Shenandoah River fail to support the fish consumption use due to mercury contamination. The public notice appears in the Virginia Register of Regulations on June 8, 2009. The public comment period begins on June 11, 2009 and ends on July 13, 2009. | |
