| Purpose of the meeting This meeting was rescheduled from June 26, 2008. The purpose of this meeting is to receive public comments (pursuant to ยง4VAC25-130-773.13(c) of the Virginia Coal Surface Mining Reclamation Regulations) on the permit application by A & G Coal Corporation to conduct surface coal mining and reclamation operations. The proposed permit area comprises 548.8 acres and is located approximately 1.7 miles northwest of Lower Exeter in Wise County. The application proposes a surface mining operation (area, contour, auger, and highwall miner). Location is accessible to the handicapped. Special accommodations for the disabled will be made available at the public hearing on request. Anyone needing special accommodations should contact the DMME Division of Mined Land Reclamation at least seven days prior to the hearing date. | |
