emergency stage be extended until 12/15/2015.
Reason for Extension:
DMAS is requesting that this emergency regulation be extended until 12/15/2015 for the following reason: This extension is required in order for DMAS to continue enforcing the legislative mandate, as set out in the 2012 Acts of the Assembly, Chapter 3, Item 307 UU, which directed the agency to make programmatic changes in order to ensure appropriate utilization, prevent abuse, and promote improved and cost efficient medical management of essential Medicaid client health care. As is clear from the Town Hall entry for this project, there have been significant delays in the review of this package as details of the content have been worked out between the Office of the Attorney General and the Department. This package is essential to assist recipients, physicians, and pharmacists as they and the Client Medical Management program work together to identify the recipients' utilization patterns and educate them on appropriate use of services.
This emergency extension request was approved by the Governor's office on 6/4/2015.
