DD label through age 9

The DD label needs to be an option through age 9. If the limit is only through age 6 kids will only receive one year of educational services and then will be forced to find services under another label. This will potentially necessitate the misdiagnosis of other disabilities so that students may receive services and will skew the results of services provided in Virginia. Typically IEPs are reviewed triennially in Stafford County. Can’t we at least give students with the DD label three years of services and a chance to succeed in school before they are otherwise labeled?
