1. Dry needling is a translation from original Chinese words Zhen Ci (???, and also a common name in China over 200 years for needling therapy. In West, the official name for this kind of therapy is called Acupuncture.
Current PT mentioned dry needling is a simplified acupuncture. It was originallly from Dr.Travell's rebranding acupuncture commercial class, only 20-30 hours.
2. Same technique, same tools, same indications(when treating musculo-skeletal disorders)? even same stimulation points(but in different name).
3. The major issue is PTs learning so-called dry needling (acupuncture) in two days class(20-30hours), which may cause potential safety issues to general public.
