Dry needles are the same as acupuncture needles. The operator of dry needles must have the necessary trining in Chinese medicine diagnosis and differentiation of syndromes. Inserting the needles at where the pain is without having the knowledge in Chinese medicine, especially "diagnosis and differentiation of syndromes", may do a lot of harm too the patient. When this happens, the operator of dry needle may argue in the court that he/she was authorized by the Board to do this; and the Board could be dragged into undesired and indefensible litigation.
