Fungi Foraging

Please reconsider making it illegal to forage fungi.  Harvesting mushrooms is not only sustainable, in many cases it helps to spread the spores.  When you harvest a mushroom, you are only collecting the fruit body, similar to picking a blueberry.  Foraging mushrooms is a fantastic way to connect with nature, learn and spend time outdoors for people of all ages.  It does not require oversight.  It does not cost the Commonwealth a dime and it provides an absolutely wonderful opportunity for people to appreciate the outdoors on a year-round basis.  In my view, whatever perceived benefits are realized by banning mushroom hunting (of which I can think of none), are far outweighed by continuing to allow this fun and highly educational outdoor activity for all ages.

Sincerely,

Sean
