Notifying parents only makes sense. I support this amendment.

As a student, I remember being assigned books that have still bothered me to this day.  I wish my parents had been warned about these books so they could have prevented this kind of educational abuse.  As a teacher, I always try to make sure that the parents are aware of anything that may be disturbing or sensitive.  I have nothing to hide so I make sure that they are aware of even the YouTube videos that I show.  If anything, having the parents in the discussion adds a new dimension to the child's learning.  They can discuss the topics together.

This amendment only makes sense.  The only people who would reject it have something that they want to "hide" from the parents.  That is not fair to the students.
