Action | Amendments Regarding Use of Controversial or Sensitive Instructional Materials |

As a parent first and a high school English teacher second, this amendment would take the choice away from all parties involved: the teacher, the parent, and the student. It is a good thing to have courageous conversations amongst our students, their parents, and the teachers about the materials and subject matters the students are learning in the classroom. This amendment takes the choice away from the teachers & parents, and puts the decision making in the hands of the goverment, not in the hands of the parties that are actively involved in the day to day lives of the students.
