Please do not change the regulations on gifted education in the state of Virginia.  If you remove oversight at the State level and do not insist and ensure that our local governments fund gifted education fully, then you can be sure that in these hard economic times, they will take the money earmarked for gifted programs and use it for anything else imaginable.  Gifted kids deserve to be challenged to learn at the fullest potential of their ability.  It is a crime to waste the talent that these kids possess and to deny them an education that will prepare them to do great things for our state and our society.
