Gifted children are characterized as "special needs".  But now the state is considering dropping the funds needed to address them.  So why aren't funds cut for dealing with other special needs students?  Are funds cut for English as a second language students?  IEP programs?  Let's be fair.  We want to provide opportunities for ALL our students.
