I am a Middle School Gifted Resource Teacher in Virginia Beach, and I believe that we have moved so far in our services to meet the needs of gifted students here.  Having attended several National Conferences for gifted education, I realize that in VirginiaBeach, we are on the cutting edge of providing top quality gifted services.  An added advantage for Virginia's school districts is that we have the expertise of two nationally recognized university gifted programs at the University of Virgina and the College of William and Mary keeping us in the forefront. Why would we want to take a  major leap backward for Virginia's population of gifted learners and adopt the  proposed  DOE regulations ?
