I am against the changes propsed speaking as a teacher of the gifted and a parent of gifted children.

I feel the changes will give too much power to the school systems who will choose to spend allocated funds for gifted ed. on preparation for state tests. Also, we need to keep a 5 year goal to maintain consistentcy in the program from year to year.

These 2 propsals are the 2 that I feel the most strongly about, although all of them I feel need reconsideration, or amending.

We need to keep fostering the development of our best and brightest for the future. I feel these changes will not fulfull that goal!
