Like many have already said, this is an unfunded, understaffed and a travisity of a mandate, I have been an active instructor in the Commonwealth since the late 1980's. I took pride knowing that the students I taught would go on to be good and sometimes great providers. My statistics in overall pass rates of students is my testament to the type of instructor that I am. Virginia is very fortunate to have many, many excellent instructors who care about the type of providers they place to the streets. I feel Virginia needs these resources and we should do everything possible to maintain them. Like in every profession known, there will be the bad apples that marginally get by with the slightest of effort, I remember when I became an EMT Instructor so many years ago and I was told that the State would monitor my classes from time to time and my pass rates. That I have no problem because there should be quality assurance in our profession but this unfunded mandate needs to be stricken from the Regulation. This idea came from an overzealous committee that wants us to think the proverbial "Sky is Falling". Well I hate to differ with you and education in Virginia is as strong as ever and we have some of the best providers and instructors in the Country!!! Wake up Richmond and stop making more hurdles for us to jump. I'm getting too old!!!!!
