STOP proposed changes to gifted services

These proposed changes to VA's gifted plan might seem fiscally advantagous on paper, but their implementation would only serve to dilute the services our children are currently receiving.  By having the State manage gifted education, there is a higher accountability and forward planning for services to guide our local communities.  Without this reporting system, more rural communities could continue to divert funds away from gifted education towards remediation.  I understand that VA's NCLB Act is to support the education of all children, but currently I am seeing "no child can get ahead either."   Our Department of Education needs to continue to fight for the most appropriate education for ALL children.

Do not endorse the proposed items, but strengthen our current regulations and hold these administrations accountable!  Thank you.
