Do Not Adopt the Proposed Regulations

As a nation we continue to strive to provide equality for all and we have made great strides toward that goal. We want to ensure that all students are provided an equal opportunity to reach the NCLB targets and that every child in Virginia masters the SOLs, but what about those children who are able to move above and beyond?  Who speaks for them? Who ensures equality in education for them? The state of Virginia should be tending to the welfare and education of every child. The gifted students are able to move well beyond these minimum expectations and we need to have the state agency in place to see that all school divisions are meeting their needs. The state of Virginia should be overseeing the education of every child in the state including our gifted population. Please be their advocate and continue the excellent education record that we are so proud of.
