Please do not adopt the proposed revisions. It is necessary that the DOE maintain power over funding and planning of gifted education for Virginia. Five year plans make more since then time wasting annual planning. Five year plans provide a vision and mission while annual planning alone can reduce excellence to paper work. If we are going to compete in a world economy we need to provide each child with the most appropriate education. Please reject the proposed revisions and fully support gifted education throughout the commonwealth.
