I have cause for concern with the proposed changes.

1.  Removing DOE oversight will reduce the cost to the state yes, but will reduce the value of the gifted program as well.

2.  Becoming a short term program will also reduce the quality of the program, because educators will spend more time with paperwork and less time with students.

3.  If there is any question with finances, the urgent will be done over the expedient.

Please help us continue to effectively educate our gifted children.  I know this is an unpopular position, especially in the age of NCLB.   My tax dollars should go to help my children as well.
