I hope the legislators reviewing this proposed change take into account how much the gifted program has helped so many students, and include its information in the regulations. Keep the gifted program in the hands of the teachers, who are working with the kids, not with administration, who - while well-meaning - can be out of touch. Our gifted students, like all our students, need to have their potential and effort and creative energy acknowledged to be able to become good leaders of our future.
