Stay in RGGI

Please do not remove Virginia from RGGI.  I have been urging my delegate to support Virginia joining RGGI for many years.  At long last, the General Assembly voted to allow Virginia to join the Regional Green House Gas Initiative.  We need to remain in RGGI and to stay the course with the Virginia Clean Economy Act.  Climate change is real and we need to take action now to address it by incentivizing the use of renewable, clean energy sources. Energy prices in RGGI states have gone down compared to those states which are not participating in the initiative.  Our participation in RGGI generates money to pay for energy efficiency upgrades which will help lower energy bills for those who most need help.  It will provide funds for flood mitigation due to sea level rise and extreme weather.  My son lives in Hampton and he has seen more flooding events than ever before.  Let's not go backward, but move forward to address these problems now rather than kicking them down the road for future generations to deal with.
