As a teacher, mother and grandmother, I think a lot about kids and our obligation to leave them an environment where they can breathe clean air and enjoy a mild climate. By limiting fossil fuel consumption, we make that commitment to them.  It is foolish for us to think that dirty, antiquated forms of energy production will fuel their future. Instead of squelching the growth of new clean energy designs, our government needs to be encouraging it. Yes, there are powerful people invested heavily in coal and natural gas, but their self interest shouldn’t get in the way of our commonwealth’s commitment to clean energy sources for our children’s futures.
