I am in agreement that we need to be good stewards of our planet; however, many efforts and initiatives are unreasonable for the average Virginian. The electric vehicle mandate will create a major burden on most households. The purchase of an electric vehicle should be an individual's choice. It is unreasonable to place that expensive expectation on individuals. Many other clean energy initiatives are costly and have the potential to increase utility and gas prices. A strong look at the ripple effect of these initiatives needs to be considered as decisions are made. We as a commonwealth should not be short-sighted in our decisions as seen in the past. Virginia should not be tied to decisions that CA has or is making, because as we are learning, those decisions have major consequences that are detrimental to the overall well-being and daily operation.
