I would like to encourage State Officials to consider including the largest possible incentives to promote distributed solar and storage in the Virginia Energy Plan. As owner of a single-family home with roof-top solar panels which produce 100% the electricity my family uses, the benefits in terms of minimal electricity bills, reduction of carbon footprint and reduced wear of the roof are obvious. It would be auspicable to institute policies and incentives that would allow any Virginia citizen to consider the installation of roof-top solar an obvious choice, similar to buying a new household appliance.

The wide-spread installation of residential roof-top solar and storage would also have an obvious and significant impact towards creating new jobs in the State,
