The nuclear plants in Virginia have performed exceedingly well and need to continue as long as they can continue to be licensed.  In addition we should be looking into small modular reactors that are now becoming available.  They are safer, smaller, non-carbon, robust, and are not intermittent so do not need backup or new grid alterations.
