Notice of Appointment of a Regulatory Advisory Panel

Pursuant to 18VAC110-11-70, Regulations for Public Participation Guidelines, the Board of Pharmacy will appoint a Regulatory Advisory Panel (RAP) to assist in the development of regulations for permitting of pharmaceutical processors to manufacture and dispense cannabidiol oil and THC-A oil for treatment of intractable epilepsy.

A request for inclusion on the RAP may also be submitted electronically prior to June 6, 2016 to Caroline Juran, Executive Director of the Board of Pharmacy to caroline.juran@dhp.virginia.gov.  The formation and composition of the RAP will be presented at the full Board meeting on June 14, 2016.

 Regulations must be in effect within 280 days of enactment or by January 3, 2017, so the Board of Pharmacy will adopt emergency regulations at its meeting scheduled for September 7, 2016.  It is anticipated that the RAP will hold two or three meetings prior to the Board meeting.
