Emergency Removal of Abused and Neglected Children

This legislation requires the local department of social services to petition for an emergency removal order within four hours of taking custody of a child or explain in the affidavit or testimony why this timeline was not met. It also requires that every effort be made to notify the parent or guardian in person after the removal.
