Child Protective Services (CPS) Record Retention
Purpose of legislation
This Code change requires that the records of family assessments shall be retained for three years after the date of the complaint or report, rather than the current one year retention period. The longer retention time is expected to benefit children and families by retaining important history for any new reports.
