These guidelines are critical for the long-term physical, mental, and emotional health of all children. Implementing these measures will simply not require significant effort or discomfort of the teachers, administrators, and students in these schools — implementing these measures will only benefit teachers, administrators, and students. To oppose any of these measures is to bluntly tell transgender, gender non-conforming, and LGBTQ+ children that they are not allowed to be themselves. Comments opposing these measures are pro-discrimination and, in many ways, advocating AGAINST free speech among young people in NC. Do the right thing and implement these policies in NC schools.
