Abolition of CGFNS is a must.

The abolitions of CGFNS certification will help prevent the nursing shortage as projected in the future years.

There are 22 states that do not require CGFNS examinations. With the projected shortage of healthcare providers by the year 2020, foreign nurses will of course seek employment for these states that do not require CGFNS certification. Our state Virginia, will face this shortage problem. There are many efficient Virginian professional nurses but not enough to facilitate our healthcare industry.

Is is true that having this CGFNS verifies an individuals qualification to practice nursing. But taking this together with the NCLEX-RN examination is a total redundancy. The NCLEX-RN examination already tests the nurses's knowledge and skills necessary to practice nursing competently.

The removal og CGFNS will assuage the nursing shortage in Virginia.

The abolition of CGFNS is a must!
