Guidance Document Change: The Model Policies for the Treatment of Transgender Students in Virginia’s Public Schools guidance document was developed in response to House Bill 145 and Senate Bill 161, enacted by the 2020 Virginia General Assembly, which directed the Virginia Department of Education to develop and make available to each school board model policies concerning the treatment of transgender students in public elementary and secondary schools. These guidelines address common issues regarding transgender students in accordance with evidence-based best practices and include information, guidance, procedures, and standards relating to: compliance with applicable nondiscrimination laws; maintenance of a safe and supportive learning environment free from discrimination and harassment for all students; prevention of and response to bullying and harassment; maintenance of student records; identification of students; protection of student privacy and the confidentiality of sensitive information; enforcement of sex-based dress codes; and student participation in sex-specific school activities, events, and use of school facilities.

Strongly Oppose This Idiocy & Assault on Parental Rights

None of these proposed policies consider the safety needs of girls who do not want to be in stages of undress in the presence of biological males (and vice versa).  They show a total lack of common sense as to how boys (especially teens) will use this just to see girls in stages of undress.  They are insanely idiotic.  An innocent child could be harassed by school personnel for using the "wrong" pronoun if a bully chooses to claim a different gender identity than he appears.  It is outrageous to claim the right to discipline such a child, or any child for any reason, without notifying the parents.  And it is absolutely immoral for a school to usurp the role of parents in guiding their own children concerning ANY issue involving the child.  What a communist thing to do!!!   Report parents for being concerned about their child's mental health!  Evil!!!  What a sad situation we are in to have people with no common sense, and no sense of the welfare of ALL students, proposing policies for our schools.  These policies would be cause for a mass exodus from public schools.
