As a Catholic Christian, and a citizen of and taxpayer in the Commonwealth of Virginia, I am emphatically and unequivocally opposed to the proposed policies. These policies defy natural law, science, and basic common sense. It is completely absurd and beyond comprehension that these are being considered for implementation by serious professionals. The State is attempting to usurp the rights of parents to raise their children in accordance with their own moral and faith values, especially when the majority, if not all of the children attending schools in Virginia are minors who lack the maturity to adequately discern and make the decisions being promoted by these proposed policies. This is nothing more than indoctrination of impressionable children who do not know better, not to mention the accusation of child abuse against parents who oppose these policies. Rather, the child abuse is being committed by the State by imposing these unnatural principles on innocent children who, as stated earlier, do not know better.
I sincerely and strongly urge the responsible officials in the VDOE to cease and desist in their efforts to pursue and impose these policies. It is a shame that taxpayers resources are being spent on this effort. The role of educators is to educate our children, not to indoctrinate them and take the role of their parents in their upbringing.
