PEs take equivalent college semester every two years - how ridiculous!

I just realized something?  Wouldn't 16 hours of education credits be approximately equal to one full-time semester at an average college?  Holy cow, and one semester equivalent to approximately 1/2 year?

So, this proposal basically says we must burden our families with the balance of work and education at least 1/2 year every two years?  Isn't it tough enough being a working spouse and trying to raise or spend quality time with our families in the first place?  Sorry, but this proposal is for single Engineers, endulged in school in the first place, probably never really having nor desiring real world Engineering experience.

Like somebody mentioned earlier, I personally have 33,280 hours of Practical Engineering experience, and if that's not good enough, along with all those seminars, along with all that time studying and passing EIT and PE exams, then I guess you can have your certificate and stamp(s) back, you'll just lose one more good Engineer!
