No to Continued Education

The requirement for a Professional to keep a record of continued education is a bureaucratic waste of time and money.  It is essential for a professional in all of our fields to continue his or her education in order to keep up with the fast changing times and technologies.  Having said that, the rules that will be set by the mandatory continued education program may not, and probably will not benefit most of us professionals.  In order to be successful in business, and in order to keep one's job, we professionals must continue our education whether it be meeting and talking with colleagues, meeting with manufacturer's representatives to discuss new products and technologies, reading internet or magazine articles, reading books, attending seminars, attending trade shows, conducting new engineering design projects, etc., etc.  To set certain specific requirements for continued education and to ask a professional to carefully track and document this continuing education will just add time, cost, and nuisance to our careers.  Please vote no to the mandatory continuing education program.
