All this proposal will do is inconveniece overworked engineers that need to maintain a certain number of billable hours with their companies, and encourage an industry to provide classes/training/continuing education to meet the proposed requirement.

I've been to these classes in the past, and have rarely walked away feeling like it was a good use of my time, and that it was worth the money.   The fact that some of these classes charge a flat rate to attend the class, and a higher rate if you want/need the CEUs says it all.  The outcome is that it's a a money maker period, and not an effective way to educate our professional engineers.

I predict that the net result will be fewer licensed professional engineers in the State of Virginia, and that would be a tragedy.

It's a matter of time before training companies start mining the registration records and start bombarding us with junk mail and spam offering their services.
