Vote NO to Continuing Education Requirements For Engineers

Where is evidence of NEED for CE?  It seems like this is something that comes from those who will benefit from holding CE classes.  What analysis has been done to show the CE classes would benefit anyone other than those holding the classes?  What evidence supports CE from the standpoint of the health or safety of the state?  There is no need for additional laws or regulations unless there is a clearly identified need.  This foolishness needs to be stopped.

As Engineering Professionals, we are held accountable for our work, we do not need a government agency to maintain our knowledge and proficiency in the field.

As stated in 18 VAC 10-20-730; "the professional shall undertake to perform professional assignments only when qualified by education or experience, or both, and licensed or certified in the profession involved."  Why is this not enough?

I have taken courses required by former employers that gave CE credit.  These were typically a waste of everyone's time and rarely provided me with anything helpful in my job as an engineer.
